Immediate Dental Implant after Extraction
The advantages of immediate placement of dental implants are as follows:
1. Use the socket as a surgical guide
2. Prevention of alveolar bone loss and gingival tissue
3. Aesthetics
4. Shorten therapy duration
The disadvantage of immediate placement of dental implant is in the case of a large socket or insufficient bone mass, there are problems with early fixation and sufficient seal can’t be obtained in the soft tissue suture or implant closure.
Early healing is induced by connecting a wide healing abutment. If early fixation is impossible because of severe destruction of the socket or diffused acute inflammation exists, immediate placement of implants after extraction is contraindicated.
